Phase Portraits for Quadratic Homogeneous Polynomial Vector Fields on S

چکیده
Let X be a homogeneous polynomial vector field of degree 2 on S. We show that if X has at least a non–hyperbolic singularity, then it has no limit cycles. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for determining if a singularity of X on S is a center and we characterize the global phase portrait of X modulo limit cycles. We also study the Hopf bifurcation of X and we reduce the 16 Hilbert’s problem restricted to this class of polynomial vector fields to the study of two particular families. Moreover, we present two criteria for studying the nonexistence of periodic orbits for homogeneous polynomial vector fields on S of degree n.

Global phase Portraits of some Reversible cubic Centers with Noncollinear singularities
The results in this paper show that the cubic vector fields ẋ = −y + M(x, y) − y(x + y), ẏ = x + N(x, y) + x(x + y), where M,N are quadratic homogeneous polynomials, having simultaneously a center at the origin and at infinity, have at least 61 and at most 68 topologically different phase portraits. To this end the reversible subfamily defined by M(x, y) = −γxy, N(x, y) = (γ − λ)x + αλy with α,...
متن کاملGlobal Phase Portraits of Quadratic Systems with an Ellipse and a Straight Line as Invariant Algebraic Curves
In this paper we study a new class of integrable quadratic systems and classify all its phase portraits. More precisely, we characterize the class of all quadratic polynomial differential systems in the plane having an ellipse and a straight line as invariant algebraic curves. We show that this class is integrable and we provide all the different topological phase portraits that this class exhi...
متن کاملGlobal phase Portraits of quadratic Polynomial differential Systems with a Semi-Elemental Triple Node
Planar quadratic differential systems occur in many areas of applied mathematics. Although more than one thousand papers have been written on these systems, a complete understanding of this family is still missing. Classical problems, and in particular, Hilbert’s 16th problem [Hilbert, 1900, Hilbert, 1902], are still open for this family. In this article we make a global study of the familyQTN ...

In this paper we present the global phase portraits in the Poincaré disc of the planar quadratic polynomial systems which admit invariant straight lines with total multiplicity two and Darboux invariants.
متن کاملSymmetric Periodic orbits Near heteroclinic Loops at Infinity for a Class of Polynomial Vector Fields
For polynomial vector fields in R, in general, it is very difficult to detect the existence of an open set of periodic orbits in their phase portraits. Here, we characterize a class of polynomial vector fields of arbitrary even degree having an open set of periodic orbits. The main two tools for proving this result are, first, the existence in the phase portrait of a symmetry with respect to a ...
